Chef Base Refrigerators are more intense than typical work top refrigerators. They have 12 gauge caster brackets beneath the unit to help support the weight carried by the unit. The work top and drawers can carry a total of 1005 lbs. An air chamber, vent and a high heat insulation tech-mat layer help the work top to withstand up to 500F temperatures. lastly, there are stainless steel corner guards on the work top surface of the unit which prevent equipment from slipping off. The interior and work top are both made of 304 stainless steel. The exterior is made of 430 stainless steel. Helping to maintain the chill of the unit is 2.5 inch of polyurethane insulation. The refrigeration is self-contained and located in a removable side panel. Its condenser slides out readily for cleaning and maintenance. The environment is protected by its use of R-134A refrigerant. The air defrost feature is electrically timed so it keeps your unit working properly, and does it on your schedule. Four drawers with 2 inch of insulation and stainless steel frames and pan dividers carry a total of 10 full size PVC pans. They have recessed handles and rounded corners. The one-piece snap in gaskets can be replaced simply if that becomes necessary. The drawers are on low friction slide bearings so they open and close with ease. The temperature range for the unit is 33 to 41F, and it’s managed by push buttons. A microchip monitors the accuracy of the temperature. You may verify the proper temperature of the unit by checking the digital display.
